Meet Pastor Bosire
and his Wife Vanish....
Jeremiah
Bosire and his wife
Vanish with their first
born. He is now the
pastor of Siamani
Baptist Church in Kenya.
Jeremiah wanted to be a
preacher and pastor
George told him that
pastors had to be the
husband of one wife. He
understood that to mean
a pastor has to be
married and so Jeremiah
went out and married
Vanish so he could be a
pastor. He has a heart
for the Lord and has led
3 other men to be
pastors. They now have 6
churches (2 new starts
since we went there to
minister last June) in
the Simba area thanks to
Jeremiah's ministry.

MISSION MOMENTS By:
Pastor Paul Henry
In
an effort to understand
the will of God for our
lives and become the
Church He would have us
to be, we have
discovered that He
reveals Himself to us so
that we can adjust our
lives to Him and join
Him on His Mission. God
is truly at work in all
places and at all times.
This adjustment to our
lives, calls for
followers of Jesus to
become serious in their
walk with Him. For some
the only hope of eternal
life may depend upon us
being faithful to the
claim and call God has
placed upon our lives.
The body of Christ, the
Church, is made up of
many people, each
uniquely different and
each gifted in a special
way by the Holy Spirit.
As each one finds and
fulfills his or her
calling, the Church
becomes a powerful
expression of God's love
to a lost world.
Our Church is committed
to provide the
opportunity for ministry
for every member, even
to the ends of the earth
and to prepare every
willing member for
service.

The Significance of
Easter By: Asst Pastor
Ken Wood
"On
the first day of the
week, very early in the
morning, the women took
the spices they had
prepared and went to the
tomb. They found the
stone rolled away from
the tomb, but when they
entered, they did not
find the body of the
Lord Jesus. While they
were wondering about
this, suddenly two men
in clothes that gleamed
like lightning stood
beside them. In their
fright the women bowed
down with their faces to
the ground, but the men
said to them, 'Why do
you look for the living
among the dead? He is
not here; he has risen!
Remember how he told
you, while he was still
with you in Galilee:
'The Son of Man must be
delivered into the hands
of sinful men, be
crucified and on the
third day be raised
again.' Then, they
remembered his words."
( Luke 24:1-8 NIV)
In the same way as Jesus
rolled away the stone
that sealed His tomb, He
rolls away the stumbling
block of sin in the
lives of all who
believe. When the women
went to the tomb to
prepare the body of
Jesus with spices for
burial, they had no idea
that Jesus was alive and
the tomb empty! They
were like all of us, at
one time, not realizing
the truth of the
resurrection. Jesus
overcame death and opens
the door for all to the
Way (Jesus Himself) of
eternal life!

Make our website a
daily part of your
Christian walk!
In January 2006, the
First Baptist Church of
Leavenworth launched
it's first website.
Since that time, we have
watched this portion of
our ministry grow,
reaching visitors and
members all over the
world.
Those who are unable to
attend services due to
physical limitations
appreciate the
convenience of being
able to hear our Sunday
Morning Service right on
our website. Since June
2006, there have been
over 10,000 visits and
sermon downloads. What a
wonderful way technology
is reaching people for
Christ!!!

A Special Easter
Celebration at
Leavenworth First
Baptist
Sunday, March 23,
2008
One might ask, "Why is
the Easter Service such
a special day for
Christians?"
The answer is really
quite simple but its
implications are great
and very profound.
Easter is simply a day
set aside to remember
and celebrate the
resurrection of Jesus,
the Son of God. We
celebrate the
resurrection because
through it God
demonstrated His power
over death and His
victory for us over the
enemy that leads and
drives mankind into
sinful deeds, into
destructive behavior and
finally into death
itself.
Many recognize that
their lives are
hopelessly locked in a
boring downward cycle of
sin and destructive
behavior that destroys
relationships within the
family and among
friends.
To those struggling with
sin and relationships,
who are just existing
from day to day, God
extends and invitation
to come to Him and
receive life; a full and
meaningful life full of
peace, joy, and love.
Said in another way; God
is eager to deliver you
from sin and spiritual
death and give you a
life in Him that will
never end, that has real
value and purpose.
The people who have
personally found this
amazing power of God to
create new life in
sinners are called
Christians. We testify
from the experience of
our own lives that the
life in Christ is true,
we worship and thank God
for the victory we have
in our Lord Jesus and we
invite people everywhere
to join us in this time
of celebration called
Easter. By: Pastor Paul
Henry
